This video shows the sensitivity, fragility, and stubbornness of a material, thread, with which I attempt to sculpt. My initial intention was to sculpt with a material present in a multitude of cultures, to try to understand humanity's taming of textiles, to divert the functional aspect of this craft art as artists like Sheila Hicks or Magdalena Abakanowicz have done. But my way of working, that is to say using only a spool of thread, reflects its delicate characteristics which I wanted to convey in this video. It questions what a thread is in a space. The ephemeral aspect present between the material and the space surrounding it justifies the destruction of the installation at the end of the video, as well as the choice of medium to present this work.
